Service Information & Terms
Effective date: 26 June 2026
The information below explains how working together works and sets out the terms that apply. It is meant to keep expectations clear and fair for everyone. Please read it before approving a quote. By approving a written quote and proceeding with a build, you agree to these terms.
Northline PCs is an independent service operated by an individual builder. Throughout this page, "we," "us," and "Northline PCs" refer to that builder, and "you" refers to the customer.
1. Inquiries are requests, not orders
Submitting the inquiry form starts a conversation. It does not create an order, a reservation, or a binding commitment for either side. A binding order exists only once you have reviewed and approved a written quote and any required deposit has been received.
2. Estimates, quotes, and parts
- Component availability and prices change frequently and are outside our control.
- Any figures mentioned in conversation are estimates only and are not final until a written quote is approved.
- Build options shown on the site are starting points, not fixed products, fixed specifications, or fixed prices.
- Recommendations are made in good faith based on your stated needs and budget and the information available at the time.
- Specific parts may be substituted for equivalent or better components if availability or pricing changes; significant changes will be discussed with you.
3. Payment and deposits
Payment terms are set out in your written quote before any work begins. A deposit may be required to order parts, and that deposit may be non-refundable to the extent it covers components already purchased or special-ordered for you. The balance is due on completion, before handover, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
4. Component warranties
New hardware components are covered by their respective manufacturers' warranties. Those warranties are provided by the manufacturers, not by Northline PCs. Warranty claims for a faulty component are handled through the relevant manufacturer under its terms. We will reasonably assist by identifying the component and pointing you to the correct process, but we are not the warranty provider for any component and are not responsible for honoring manufacturer warranties.
5. Workmanship and the build service
We take care to assemble, configure, and test each system properly. Our service covers the assembly, configuration, and testing labor described in your quote. Except for any limited assurance expressly stated in writing in your quote, the build service and any items not covered by a manufacturer warranty are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Any limited assurance we may offer covers assembly workmanship only, does not cover the components themselves, and does not cover issues described in Section 7.
6. Customer-supplied and reused parts
Parts you supply or ask us to reuse are used entirely at your own risk. We cannot guarantee the condition, performance, compatibility, authenticity, or remaining lifespan of components we did not source. Northline PCs is not responsible for any failure, damage, data loss, incompatibility, or reduced performance arising from customer-supplied or reused parts, and is not liable if such parts are found to be defective, counterfeit, or unsuitable. Any warranty on those parts remains a matter between you and their original seller or manufacturer.
7. Performance, software, and operating systems
- Real-world performance depends on software, settings, drivers, updates, and titles outside our control. We do not guarantee any specific frame rate, benchmark score, or level of performance.
- You are responsible for holding valid licenses for any operating system and software you use, and for complying with their terms. We are not responsible for software licensing, activation, or any third-party software behavior.
- Future games, applications, or updates may change system requirements over time. Meeting today's needs does not guarantee compatibility with future software.
8. Data and backups
You are responsible for backing up your own data. When a system or storage device is provided to us for any reason, you must keep your own backup first. Northline PCs is not responsible for the loss, corruption, or recovery of any data, under any circumstances.
9. Timelines and availability
Because each system is built individually, timelines depend on part availability and the current queue. Estimated timeframes are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. Delays caused by suppliers, shipping, manufacturers, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control are not the responsibility of Northline PCs, though we will communicate them as soon as they are known.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service and any deliverables not expressly covered by a written assurance or a manufacturer warranty are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that a system will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will meet any expectation not expressly stated in writing.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Northline PCs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to the service or any system, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Northline PCs for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid to Northline PCs for the labor portion of the build in question.
12. Your responsibilities and indemnity
You confirm that any parts or software you supply are legally yours to use and are not counterfeit or unlicensed. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Northline PCs from claims, losses, or costs arising from parts or software you supply, from your misuse of a system, or from your breach of these terms.
13. Right to decline or stop work
We may decline or discontinue a project at any time, including where requirements cannot be met safely or reliably, where requested parts are unsuitable, or where communication or conduct makes the work impractical. In that case, any amounts paid for work not yet performed and for components not yet purchased will be handled fairly.
14. Non-excludable rights
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights you may have that cannot legally be excluded or limited under the consumer protection laws that apply to you. Where any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect for your build is the one provided with or referenced by your approved quote. The effective date above shows when this page was last revised.
